Abstract The rapid advancement of digital technologies has significantly transformed accounting and auditing practices, particularly through the emergence of cloud accounting systems. This study examines the impact of cloud accounting innovations on digital auditing practices using secondary data from peer-reviewed journals, research articles, and industry reports. The research adopts a descriptive and analytical approach to evaluate the evolution of cloud accounting and its influence on audit efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency. Findings indicate that cloud accounting has transitioned from traditional desktop-based systems to Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms offering real-time reporting, remote accessibility, system integration, and automated data synchronization. These innovations have reshaped digital auditing by enabling continuous auditing, real-time verification, and risk-based assessment, replacing periodic and manual audit procedures. The integration of automation, artificial intelligence, and data analytics enhances fraud detection, anomaly identification, and full-population transaction testing, thereby improving audit accuracy and operational efficiency. Comparative analysis reveals that cloud-based audits outperform traditional audits in terms of reporting speed, transparency, and risk detection capability. However, challenges such as cybersecurity threats, data privacy concerns, regulatory compliance complexities, and skill gaps among auditors remain significant. The study concludes that cloud accounting serves as a catalyst for modern audit transformation and emphasizes the need for robust security frameworks, data governance policies, and continuous professional training. Overall, effective adoption of cloud-based systems can strengthen audit quality, financial transparency, and organizational governance in the evolving digital economy.
