Feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a common, primarily subclinical disease in cats, but can lead to severe heart failure or arterial thromboembolism with a poor prognosis.

Limitations

  • Cause of HCM in the vast majority of cats remains unknown
  • No treatment currently exists that reverses or slows the cardiomyopathic process
