New records and distribution details of Zopheridae species in Bulgaria, showing increased knowledge of local biodiversity.
Beetles of the family Zopheridae (Coleoptera, Tenebrionoidea) are rarely reported from Bulgaria and available data on their distribution in the country are scarce. Here, we provide an updated checklist of the family, based on published data and new records. Twenty-one species of the family Zopheridae are listed for Bulgaria. New data on the distribution of fourteen species are provided. The species Colydium noblecourti Parmain, Eckelt & Schuh, 2024 is reported for the first time for the country. The presence of the species Aulonium trisulcum (Geoffroy, 1785), A. ruficorne (G.-A. Olivier, 1790), Orthocerus clavicornis (Linnaeus, 1758), Langelandia anophthalma Aubé, 1842 and Synchita mediolanensis A. Villa & J. B. Villa, 1833 is confirmed for Bulgaria.
