Demonstrates enhanced communication performance in vehicular antennas, indicating improved connectivity.
The extensive research into enhanced automotive antenna technology is driven by growing demand for the connected vehicles and intelligent transport systems. This paper presents a sixty-port massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with six polarization vectors that is suitable for Bluetooth and ultra-wideband applications. In order to improve the spatial diversity and communication performance, the antenna is designed with a 3D configuration. In the MIMO antenna, twenty-four elements are placed in the horizontal plane and twenty-four elements are distributed across the vertical planes, with the base plane having twelve elements. The antenna has semi-rectangular radiators with meandering slots in an isomorphic inverse arrangement that operates at 2.4 GHz and 3.3–10.6 GHz. The unit cell measures 18 mm by 19 mm, while the MIMO antenna measures 97 mm by 97 mm. The far-field evaluation of the suggested MIMO antenna shows that the envelope correlation coefficient is less than 0.08 and the effective diversity gain is more than 9 dB.
