Proposes a numerical model to assess design response in glass façade systems, indicating practical benefits for engineers.
Point‐fixed glass façade systems (PFGFSs) have become popular in modern architecture for their transparency, aesthetic flexibility, and energy efficiency. However, simulating their behaviour is difficult due to structural complexity and high computational costs. This study proposes a simplified benchmark numerical model of PFGFS under in‐plane cyclic load. The numerical model is validated with a full‐scale experimental test of PFGFS with laminated glass panels and spider arm connections. Results show strong agreement with experimental data, capturing both overall response and localised stress pattern. This approach provides a practical tool for design and vulnerability assessment, especially in seismic and high‐wind regions.
