The final results of the Syrian-German survey project at Jebel el-Hamam illustrate a fortified hilltop settlement with long distance connections. Geomagnetic surveys made several small building units visible that seem to be partly burnt. The analysis of the collected pottery suggests a dating to the 1st half of the 3rd millennium B.C.
