Identification of cancer predisposition syndromes (CPSs) in pediatrics is rapidly expanding with the more routine use of genetic testing. To care for this population, a multidisciplinary Cancer Predisposition Program was created. A retrospective review investigated the impact of this program on adherence to recommended imaging surveillance for patients with common CPSs. New patients referred to the clinical program were 2.55 times more likely to be adherent to screening recommendations (OR and 95% CI: 2.55 1.19-5.44, P=0.016). When patients who were established in our medical system were included in the analysis, adherence rates postclinical program development were not improved compared with prior care in other clinics (P=0.18). Overall, the creation of a multidisciplinary Cancer Predisposition Program improved care for patients and families.
