BackgroundNon-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infections are increasingly recognized in clinical practice, yet diagnosis remains challenging.Case presentationA 52-years-old immunocompetent male developed chronic finger infection after shrimp shell injury.MethodsMetaCap sequencing was used.ResultsMycobacterium haemophilum was identified; patient recovered after combination therapy.ConclusionMetaCap enables early diagnosis and targeted treatment.
