Assesses family interactions in Chilean families, suggesting a reliable evaluation tool for early childhood development.
Objective This study aimed to culturally adapt and validate the Revised Picnic Assessment Scale (Re‐PAS) in the Chilean context. Background The Re‐PAS is a coding system for the Picnic Game (PNG), an observational tool designed to evaluate family interactions, including coparenting dynamics and the overall quality of interactions. Method Following translation and cultural adaptation, the tool was applied to a nonclinical sample of 91 families with children aged 36–59 months. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to test the theoretical structure of the scale. Results CFA supported the theoretical structure of the scale, demonstrating its validity and reliability for Spanish‐speaking families. Conclusion The findings highlight the Re‐PAS as a robust tool for assessing family dynamics in both clinical and research contexts. Implications or Recommendations The Re‐PAS offers potential applications in early childhood development and public policy, providing a reliable instrument for evaluating family interactions and coparenting.
