Abstract The paradigm of inflammatory bowel disease is shifting from a malabsorptive, undernourished state to one where obesity is a prevalent comorbidity, yet large‐scale Australasian data are lacking. We conducted a retrospective, multicentre cohort study from the binational Crohns Colitis Care registry, highlighting a high prevalence of obesity and overweight in our cohort where increasing body mass index was associated with older age and cardiometabolic comorbidities including diabetes and metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease.
