An effective approach to remove contaminants from water is essential for maintaining water safety. Adsorption is an efficient technique for contaminants removal due to its cost effectiveness, energy efficiency, simplicity, and environmental acceptability. This study presents the development of a mixed metal MOF on MOF embedded graphene oxide (MMOFs/GO), with the goal of the sustainable adsorptive elimination of contaminants from water. The MMOFs/GO have enhanced adsorption capability and stability for the removal of dyes, mixed dyes, and antibiotics from water. MMOFs/GO exhibits a substantial surface area of 1060 m2/g, accompanied by a total pore volume of 0.30 cm3/g. The prolonged surface area offered by GO and the “blocks” within the composite is one of the factors that enhance the adsorption efficacy of MMOFs/GO. Furthermore, MMOFs/GO has demonstrated significant effectiveness when employed for the remediation of washing effluent. The hybrid of mixed-metal MOFs incorporated with GO serves as a sustainable path for the treatment of real wastewater.
