Laser peripheral iridectomy use in the unoperated eyes of hospitalised patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma in a national multicentre study in China

Data on LPI usage were extracted from electronic medical records of 5,404 PACG patients from January 2011 to December 2020.

35.3% of unoperated eyes received LPI during hospitalization, with rates of 35.1% and 36.0% in provincial-level and city-level hospitals, respectively.
Higher intraocular pressure (> 21 mmHg) and worse visual impairment were linked to lower LPI usage rates (OR = 0.915; 95% CI [0.875, 0.956] and OR = 0.898; 95% CI [0.849, 0.949]).
Patients in the northern region had a higher LPI usage rate (OR = 1.343; 95% CI [1.295, 1.393]).
