This canonical note clarifies the relationship between Gödel’s incompleteness theorems and the Architecture of Limitation (AoL). While Gödel demonstrates the inevitability of incompleteness in sufficiently expressive formal systems, he provides no internal governance mechanism for responding to such limits. AoL occupies this missing layer: it governs what happens when incompleteness is encountered by treating collapse as a diagnostic signal that mandates withdrawal rather than resolution. This document formalizes that distinction and provides pseudo-code illustrating the difference between formal incompleteness and governed cognitive behavior under limit conditions. This publication forms part of the broader Architecture of Limitation / AoLOS research program and is provided for academic and research purposes. It does not constitute a full disclosure of implementation-level mechanisms.
