Explores emergent gravitational interactions in an ultra-relativistic framework, suggesting new insights into inertial mass.
We propose a novel Effective Field Theory (EFT) framework in which gravitational interaction and inertial mass are not fundamental properties of spacetime or matter, but emergent phenomena arising from a strict separation of energy scales. Discarding the geometric curvature paradigm, we model the vacuum as containing a Lorentz-invariant, stochastic background of ultra-relativistic corpuscles χ. We demonstrate that by treating fundamental matter partons ψ as strictly massless in the ultraviolet (UV) limit, the scattering cross-section of the χ-background yields a purely additive momentum transfer, rendering macroscopic bodies topologically transparent. Conversely, in the infrared (IR) limit, macroscopic inertial mass is dynamically generated via spontaneous symmetry breaking coupled to a scalar condensate φ. By invoking a rigorous decoupling theorem, we show that the UV gravitational flux and the IR emergent inertia scale identically with the topological parton number N, thus preserving the Macroscopic Equivalence Principle without requiring a fundamental equivalence of active and passive gravitational masses.
