This working paper proposes the Agentic AI Adoption Architecture (4A) Framework — a staged typology classifying enterprise agentic AI deployments across four configurations: Augmentor, Copilot, Delegate, and Commander — defined by autonomy level, domain risk, and governance readiness. The paper introduces the concept of the Agent Governance Artifact (AGA), an organizational instrument that encodes context, entitlements, and accountability boundaries into agent behavior. Drawing on an anonymized practitioner case, the paper demonstrates that advancing agentic AI maturity is fundamentally an organizational challenge requiring purpose-built governance architecture. The 4A Framework and AGA concept are original contributions of the author. Target venue: Business Horizons (Elsevier).
