Examines railway noise characteristics and calculations for noise reduction strategies, suggesting improvements.
Since the radiated sound from the wheels and rails of a railway is usually measured simultaneously, it is necessary to know the contribution and noise characteristics of each wheel and rail in order to establish an alternative for reducing noise. In this paper, we will examine a time-domain-based railway running noise calculation model that was constructed for this purpose, and introduce the calculation results and experimental results for an actual train in operation.
