In modern times, the focus is mostly on the physical health and fitness of future generations and to some extent on mental health, with very little emphasis given to the development of spiritual, emotional, and moral values. Due to this ignorance, the upcoming generation is becoming deprived of emotional, human and moral values, and is getting involved in different kinds of misconduct leading to degradation. The founder/patron of All World Gayatri Pariwar, Yug Rishi Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya ji has stated several methodologies, based on ancient Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), for the virtuous development of the future generation. He directed that the foundation of the personality (body and mind) of a child is laid in the womb of the mother, and intervention at this stage can lead to the development of a civilized, cultured, and virtuous future generation, further leading to a well developed family, as well as the upliftment of the society, nation and the world. All such inspiring efforts for the mental, emotional and spiritual development of future generations are combined under a systematic movement known as the “Aao Gadhe Sanskarwan Peedhi” program, run by Shantikunj, Haridwar, India, the headquarter of All World Gayatri Pariwar, wherein ‘Gharbhotsav Sanskar’ is conducted in the third month of pregnancy, and IKS based guidance on various aspects is administered to the pregnant woman and her family members throughout pregnancy, as well as after delivery. This paper depicts one such case study of ‘Gharbhotsav Sanskar’ under the movement “Aao Gadhe Sanskarwan Peedhi”, in which the effect of basic teachings of ancient Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) on the physical, mental, emotional, moral and spiritual health of a pregnant woman, as well as on the developmental milestones of the child have been studied. Positive effects were observed after the pregnant woman started following an ideal daily routine, yogic exercises, pranayama, dhyan (meditation), diet (balanced, pious (sattvic), and virtuous (sanskarit)), dialogue with the fetus (womb conversation), etc., as per the guidelines given in this program. Also, several developmental milestones of the new born child happened much earlier (were preponed) as compared to the standard developmental milestones (as given by a USA based standard validated scale). It was also noticed that all the milestones for more than 12 months to 2 years were achieved by the child in less than or equal to 12 months, illustrating the effectiveness of this ancient IKS based methodology in the creation of an advanced offspring as compared to its normal peers. The results depict the effectiveness of the basic elements of the ancient IKS, with regards to the creation of an advanced future generation.
