Surgical excision of a large LV fibroma resolves VT in a 4-year-old with SARS-CoV-2.
Why the study?
Ventricular tachycardia and cardiac tumors are both extremely rare diagnoses in pediatric patients.
Case Report (n=1)
No
Highlights a rare presentation of ventricular tachycardia associated with a large cardiac fibroma and concomitant SARS-CoV-2 infection in a pediatric patient.
May inform surgical decisions in rare pediatric fibroma-VT cases; leaves open need for larger studies on safety and COVID-19 interactions.
Ventricular tachycardia and cardiac tumors are both extremely rare diagnoses in pediatric patients. We report a pediatric case of cardiac fibroma that was noted during the work up of ventricular tachycardia in a young patient concomitantly diagnosed with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.

O'Neal et al. (2022) conducted a case report in Ventricular tachycardia and cardiac fibroma (n=1). Surgical excision was evaluated on Arrhythmia recurrence. Surgical excision of a large left ventricular cardiac fibroma successfully resolved ventricular tachycardia in a 4-year-old boy with concurrent SARS-CoV2 infection.
