Key Points

  • To document the first occurrence of Forcipomyia pinamarensis in Colombia, emphasizing its ecological setting.
  • Two specimens (one male, one female) were collected from a cacao-producing agroecosystem in Caquetá.
  • Morphological characteristics and photographic documentation were conducted for accurate identification.
  • The species was found in an agroforestry system of Theobroma cacao and Musa × paradisiaca.
  • This record expands the known geographic distribution of Forcipomyia pinamarensis.
