-target/1-hit model in terms of simultaneous differential equations, where each step corresponds to the cells in which specific targets have been hit. The recovery effects are taken into account in the same manner as the Whack-A-Mole model, which makes dose rate an essential parameter of the model. Using the model, we reproduced the essential features of Elkind recovery, such as the reappearance of the shoulder in the survival curve, the increase of the survival rate with the number of splits, and the increase of the recovery rate with the length of the non-irradiation period.
