Case report reveals successful embolization treatment for ruptured renal angiomyolipoma with hemorrhage.
A BSTRACT Renal angiomyolipoma (AML) is a solid benign renal tumor composed of smooth muscle, blood vessels and fat in varying proportions. AML accounts for 0.3%–3% of all renal masses. Small sized AMLs generally do not cause any complications but the most dangerous complication of large renal AMLs is rupture with retroperitoneal hemorrhage which can be life threatening. We report a case of ruptured AML leading to retroperitoneal hemorrhage that was successfully managed with embolization with NBCA (N-butyl cyanoacrylate) glue.
