Abstract

The name Macedonia/Macedonian is an ETHNONYM and not a TOPONYM. This is to ensure that not all peoples who have ever lived in the former geographical territory of MACEDONIA can be MACEDONIANS! The name Macedonian is the national name, of greek word, of that tribe which descends from the gods Zeus and Heracles. It is their tribal and national name. Because, as we know from the sciences of ethnology and sociology, a few related families create kinsmen. A few related kinsmen create a tribe. A few related tribes create a People and a Nation. The name Macedonia-Macedonian comes from the Greek language and refers only to the Greeks who live in Macedonia, as is the case with the Bavarians, Saxons, Pomeranians, Austrians... within the German nation. The citizens of FYROM (Slavs. Albanians, Turks, Gypsies, Serbs, Bulgarians …) have no connection with the ETHNONYM MACEDONIAN.
