Siegler maintains that medical confidentiality, as traditionally by physicians and patients, no longer exists; modern hospital care that medical records be available to health care team members, , insurers, and others. He urges the public and the medical to direct their efforts toward salvaging those aspects of which should be retained, rather than vainly trying to a myth.
