The article considers migration as a significant resource of Russian soft power. It focuses on migration from CIS countries and especially from Central Asian States as major sources of migratory flows to Russia. According to the author, the migration policy of Russia is aimed at two main target audiences - internal and external. the efforts of the authorities and civil society are distributed between these areas unequally and have different effectiveness. in this regard, the author aims to consider the strengths and weaknesses of domestic and international activities of the Russian Federation in the field of migration.
