The pavilions of Finca Güell in Barcelona, designed and built by the architect Antoni Gaudí between 1884 and 1887, are unique examples of his use of the technique of lime-crusted rammed earth. This is the only work built by the Catalan architect using this constructive technique, a little-known fact barely publicized to date. The variant and intricacies of this constructive technique used by Gaudí in Finca Güell were not known in depth, and there were even instances of erroneous data, such as reports of the earth being mixed with straw, being presented. This unpublished research, based on documentary study, fieldwork and analysis conducted on the building, completes any lacunae relating to Gaudí’s work.
