. OsSPL10 directly regulated the Aux/IAA gene OsIAA13 to modulate tillering through the auxin signaling pathway. Genome editing of OsSPL10 in the Shennong265 background showed a 14.22% increase in grain yield in a field trial. The OsSPL10 genome-edited plants also showed increased effective tiller numbers and grain yields under drought stress conditions. Our findings provide a potential target for breeding rice varieties with stable and high yields.
