ABSTRACT The traditional Gaussian beam migration method is based on free surface boundary conditions for wavefield continuation while facing certain adaptability issues when processing ocean‐bottom data. Attributed to inaccurate ocean‐bottom boundary conditions, the wave travel path in ocean‐bottom data cannot be distinguished between up and down waves, bringing about significant artefacts in imaging results. As the Gaussian beam travels over a longer space, its beam width quickly expands, affecting its imaging performance in complex subsurface structures. Thus, an elastic‐wave‐adaptive focused beam migration method using multi‐component ocean‐bottom seismic data containing water pressure components is proposed in this study. Specifically, the Gaussian beam propagation operator is replaced with an adaptive focused beam propagation operator, and the water pressure component is adopted to represent the stress information of the seafloor, enabling the establishment of a complete seafloor boundary condition for wavefield continuation. The trial results suggest that the seafloor multi‐component adaptive focused beam migration method can effectively suppress artefacts in the basin and complex fault block models, contributing to the reinforced imaging performance in complex subsurface structures.
