In the context of current climate challenges and the need to increase efficiency in agriculture, growing vegetables in protected areas becomes a viable solution to ensure the continuity and quality of production. Eggplants, due to their economic and nutritional value, benefit significantly from the technologies applied in solariums and greenhouses. This study analyzes the profitability of growing eggplants in protected areas on a standard area of 1,000 m2, by comparing two economic scenarios: without financial support and with support according to Government Decision no. 325/2025. The income and expenditure budget includes both direct expenses (planting material, fertilizers, phytosanitary treatments, labor) and indirect expenses (energy, depreciation, water). Income is estimated based on the valorization of production on the local market. Relevant economic indicators were calculated, such as gross income, total expenses, net profit and rate of return. The results show that, with financial support, eggplant cultivation in protected areas becomes considerably more profitable, resulting in an economic efficiency raised from 7.81% to 49.39% within the two scenarios investigated, thus supporting investment decisions and the development of high-performance agriculture. Based on the results, it can be said that eggplant production represents a sustainable and profitable option under current climatic and economic conditions.
