By fusing together parallelogram-shaped DNA units, which are formed from four four-arm-branched DNA junctions (see figure), it has been possible to construct periodic DNA lattices in which the size of the rhombus-like cavities can be tuned by using a variety of linking units. Such designs have potential applications for constructing combinatorial and addressable DNA lattices for complex molecular architectures.
