Comparative analysis examines AI tools in fashion design, highlighting sustainability impacts and human-AI collaboration.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming modern design practices by enhancing creativity, efficiency, and decision-making across multiple design domains, including graphic design, UI/UX, engineering, architecture, and fashion design. AI-powered design tools support designers through automation, predictive analysis, virtual prototyping, and generative design capabilities, enabling faster and more innovative workflows. In fashion design and production, AI contributes significantly to sustainability by reducing fabric waste, optimizing material utilization, improving demand forecasting, and supporting eco-friendly manufacturing practices. This study presents a comparative analysis of current AI-powered design tools based on key evaluation criteria such as functionality, usability, creative support, collaboration, sustainability impact, and human–AI interaction. The paper also examines the role of human–AI collaboration in enhancing creativity while preserving emotional, cultural, and artistic values in design processes. Findings indicate that AI tools improve productivity, encourage experimentation, and support sustainable production through intelligent automation and data-driven decision-making. However, challenges related to originality, ethical concerns, transparency, and data dependency remain significant. The study concludes that responsible human–AI collaboration is essential for future sustainable and innovative design development.
