Descriptive study examines recruitment effectiveness in the IT and BPO sector, suggesting improvements are needed.
The rapid growth of digital technology has significantly transformed recruitment practices, making online job portals an essential tool in talent acquisition. This study examines the effectiveness of online job portals in recruitment with special reference to Naukri.com in the Indian IT and BPO sector. The research adopts a descriptive and cross-sectional design and is based on primary data collected from students, job seekers, and working professionals through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. Statistical tools such as percentage analysis, chi-square test, and correlation analysis were used for data interpretation. The findings reveal that online job portals improve recruitment reach, accessibility, and time efficiency; however, issues such as irrelevant job recommendations, delayed recruiter responses, communication gaps, and concerns regarding fake job postings reduce overall effectiveness and user satisfaction. The study also indicates that job matching accuracy and user experience moderately influence candidate satisfaction and recruitment outcomes. The research concludes that although online job portals play a vital role in modern talent acquisition, improvements in communication efficiency, verification systems, and matching algorithms are necessary to enhance user trust and recruitment effectiveness in the digital hiring environment.
