Abstract Morphologic, cytochemical, functional, and chromosomal studies were performed on cells from blood and the spleen of a patient with leukemic reticuloendotheliosis. Characteristics of these cells were further defined by histochemical studies, by their removal by the cotton-filtration process, by their negative response to PHA stimulation, and by their poor phagocytic properties. Chromosomal studies in this case showed abnormal patterns in cells from the spleen. This abnormal pattern was characterized by the presence of an abnormal chromosome in A group, extra chromosome in C group, and monosomy in G group.
