Miniaturized finger probe measures blood pressure within ~4 mmHg of standard methods and detects AF.
Why the study?
Does a miniaturized finger probe accurately measure blood pressure and detect hemodynamic parameters compared to standard cuff-based methods?

Does a miniaturized finger probe accurately measure blood pressure and detect hemodynamic parameters compared to standard cuff-based methods?
A novel miniaturized finger probe demonstrates feasibility for convenient ambulatory measurement of blood pressure, arterial stiffness, and atrial fibrillation detection.
Small-sample feasibility supports device development; leaves open larger validation before clinical adoption.

Panula et al. (2023) conducted an observational in Hemodynamic monitoring. Miniaturized finger probe vs. Manual auscultation and automated cuff oscillometry was evaluated on Blood pressure measurement difference. A miniaturized finger probe measured blood pressure with differences of -3.5 ± 8.4 mmHg and -4.0 ± 4.4 mmHg compared to standard methods, and demonstrated the ability to detect atrial fibrillation.
