A rare case report of multiple root canals in eight teeth from left to right, the mandibular first premolar

Anatomical variations in the mandibular, anterior, and premolar teeth do occur. The most common variation is the presence of two canals and is found to be more common in mandibular incisors. The present case reports the presence of two canals in all six mandibular anterior teeth, as well as in the two mandibular first premolar teeth, which were detected during routine endodontic treatment of four mandibular anterior teeth. The canals were located under magnification and illumination, prepared with the use of hand and rotary files, and on the next visit, the canals were obturated. Normally, we see single or a few teeth with varied root canal anatomy. However, findings of eight teeth in series with varied root canal anatomy are a very rare phenomenon.
