Research demonstrates new computational tools for analyzing cell movement and adhesion in pancreatic cancer, suggesting improved understanding of metastasis.
Cell movement and adhesion play a central role in processes such as cancer metastasis, yet many of the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Guillaume Jacquemet’s Cell Migration research group at Åbo Akademi studies how cancer cells sense their environment, move, and attach to tissues, with a particular focus on pancreatic cancer. Combining bioimaging, microscopy, artificial intelligence, and open-source software development, the group also creates computational tools for analysing large-scale cell imaging data.
