ABSTRACT This discussion paper examines critical challenges in water resource management and climate adaptation in Bangladesh's coastal districts. It focuses on the problems caused by rising salinity, sea‐level rise, and extreme weather events, which endanger agriculture, livelihoods, and access to safe drinking water for millions of people in coastal Bangladesh. The study underlines the necessity of long‐term initiatives such as rainwater harvesting, desalination, salinity‐tolerant crop development, community engagement, female empowerment, and governmental interventions such as the National Water Policy (1999) and the National Adaptation Plan of Bangladesh (2023–2050). Bangladesh can increase resilience, promote sustainable development, and protect its coastal people from the long‐term effects of climate change by combining modern technologies and indigenous knowledge.
