Bibliometric analysis reveals key trends and contributors in fertility-preserving treatment for endometrial cancer from 2005 to 2024, highlighting molecular classification.
OBJECTIVE: To quantitatively map and visualize global research trends, key contributors, and thematic evolution in fertility-preserving treatment for endometrial cancer from 2005 to 2024. METHODS: Research publications on fertility-preserving treatment for endometrial cancer were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection database. We employed CiteSpace and VOSviewer to analyze authors, journals, countries, institutions, citations, references, and keywords. RESULTS: From 2005 to 2024, a total of 1106 publications were published in related fields. Research on fertility-preserving treatment for endometrial cancer progressed rapidly, exhibiting an upward trend in annual publications. China, Fudan University, and Xiaojun Chen were the most productive country, institution, and author, respectively. The journal that published the most articles and received the highest number of citations was Gynecologic Oncology. Keyword co-occurrence analysis identified three major research clusters. These clusters primarily encompass treatment modalities, key clinical outcomes, and risk factors. Molecular classification was a research hotspot from 2021 to 2024. CONCLUSION: This bibliometric analysis provides insight into current trends and future directions in fertility-preserving treatments for endometrial cancer. Recent research has prominently emphasized molecular classification, with immunotherapy potentially emerging as a promising treatment modality.
