The total mass mα of the earth's atmosphere has been computed as precisely as possible from the present data on the atmospheric pressure and height distribution of the earth's land. The result is mα = (5.136 ± 0.007) × 1021 g. The total mass of each of the principal constituents of the atmosphere was also computed.
