The destruction of deuterium as a result of high energy photon emission from evaporating primordial black holes is examined. The decrease in abundance is found to be comparable in magnitude with the increase predicted by Zeldovich <it>et al</it>. in their consideration of nucleon emission by black holes, indicating that the fate of deuterium in a universe containing small black holes needs further examination.
