Examines adding fasting mimicking diet to standard care for triple-negative breast cancer, suggesting improved treatment tolerance.
Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) remains associated with substantial treatment-related fatigue during neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy (NAC). Preclinical and early clinical studies suggest that fasting-mimicking diets (FMD) may improve treatments tolerance through metabolic reprogramming, insulin/IGF-1 modulation, reshaping anti-tumour immunity and enhanced cellular stress resistance. Yet structured FMD protocols are difficult to implement in routine care and to evaluate at large scale, limiting the generation of reproducible clinical data, due to requirements for nutritional screening, predefined dietary calendars, daily instructions and safety monitoring.
