This report documents the historic building features of a 19th-century agricultural structure, indicating its development and uses.
Photography Written examination and description Plans and elevations Background research This report forms the photographic and written description of the outbuilding, which comprises an early-mid 19th century 'L' shaped agricultural structure. In form, the building can be divided into two: a single storey structure likely built onto a two storey building, though the exact nature of phasing was difficult to ascertain due to partial rendering or heavy mortaring of the walls. The internal roofing noted in the two buildings however does suggest that the single storey structure post-dates the two storey building. The single storey structure, now a stable block, was likely originally a cow (or other animal) house, adjoined to the two storey building which may have been a cart shed and store.
