Special Issue examines identity and transnationalism across various cultural productions, highlighting significant themes.
Welcome to Issue 45:1 of the European Journal of American Culture ( EJAC ). Guest edited by Amaia Soroa-Bacaicoa (University of the Basque Country – EHU), this Special Issue explores the frontiers and wastelands of US identity as articulated across diverse cultural productions, drawing on a wide range of theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches. Collectively, the seven articles in this Special Issue engage with questions of identity, transnationalism, dangers and havens, violence, trauma, mobility and marginalization, elements integral to both the physical and metaphorical frontiers and wastelands of the United States.
