An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the groundworks phase for a rear extension in the area of Long Compton which had moderate potential for medieval archaeological deposits to be impacted by the development. The work was carried out in accordance with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists' Standard and guidance for an archaeological monitoring and recording (2023). Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out during the groundworks for rear and side extensions in an area thought to be within the medieval village of Compton, on behalf of Align Mediation. No archaeological features were recorded.
