An archaeological evaluation off Wellesbourne Road, Alveston, on behalf of Martin Ball at Studio Spicer Architects, was carried out to determine if the development site contained significant archaeological deposits. The site lies in proximity to several prehistoric sites, the Scheduled Monument of the Roman Settlement of Tiddington and Alveston medieval settlement. The work was carried out in accordance with The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists Standard for archaeological field evaluation (CIfA 2023) and the Stratford-on-Avon District Council Core Strategy. Two squared postholes of 18th century or later date were recorded alongside two brick walls of similar date. All features are likely to related to the site's use as formal gardens around the adjacent Red House formerly The Vicarage, although one of the walls may relate to allotments constructed as part of the Dig for Victory campaign in the early 20th century.
