Desk-based study identifies heritage significance of Earl's Court Station, enhancing access while preserving its value.
A desk-based study has been undertaken to identify and understand the heritage significance of the Grade II listed Earl's Court Station. The following actions were undertaken to inform this assessment: A search of the National Heritage List for England; A search of the local planning authority's planning portal; An examination of local, regional, and national planning policies in relation to the historic environment; An inspection of the cartographic evidence for the land use history of the site, including Ordnance Survey maps and; A search of published and non-published resources relating to the listed building Overall, the proposed scheme will offer enhanced step-free access from Piccadilly Line trains to the platform. The impact to the significance of the station is negligible, while the public benefit of this proposed scheme is therefore substantial. As such, it is considered to comply with local and national planning policy
