This article analyzes how investments drive green technology innovation, indicating vital implications for climate action.
This article examines the pivotal function of financial capital in accelerating the research, development, and deployment of green technologies. In the face of intensifying climate change and surging global electricity demand driven by industrialization and artificial intelligence data centers, capital allocation has shifted from a regulatory burden to a primary driver of economic resilience. Drawing upon data from the International Energy Agency (IEA) and BloombergNEF (BNEF), this paper explores how public and private investments bridge the commercialization gap for clean energy solutions, modernize electric grids, and mitigate investment risks in emerging markets. The findings emphasize that while global transition investments reached a record high of over two trillion dollars, structural bottlenecks and geographic imbalances require strategic blended finance models to sustain the momentum of decarbonization.
