An archaeological trial trench evaluation was undertaken on land to the north and east of Newton Cottage at Elderslie Golf Club, Renfrewshire. The work was carried in order to fulfil condition 12 of planning permission relating to the erection of 17 residential dwellings, eight flatted dwellings and relocation of existing greenkeeper's workshop and storage accommodation. A total of 24 trial trenches were excavated across the development area covering a total of 1,415 sq. m., approximately 7% of the total development area.
