Archaeological evaluation reveals no significant findings in land for housing development, suggesting minimal historical impact.
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on behalf of Eildon Housing Association on land north of 4 Edgar Road, Westruther, Scottish Borders. The work was carried out by Clyde Archaeology on the 15th and 16th September 2020 in order to discharge condition 10 of the planning permission for the construction of ten houses along with associated landscaping, parking and drainage (planning ref: 19/01491/FUL). Nine evaluation trenches were excavated totalling 405 sq. m. (approximately 10% of the development area). No significant archaeological remains were uncovered.
