The main objective of the study was to investigate the challenges of behavior management in physical education practical class in Adama city. The study includes 3 secondary school, 384 students, 10 Physical Education teachers and 8 school principals. The total populations of the study were 402. This sample was taken by Miller and Brewer (2003) formula. Descriptive survey study was used to carry out this research and three instruments such as questionnaire, interview and field observation check list were used to gather the data. The study was carried out with descriptive sampling method and both quantitative and qualitative approaches were used. Questionnaire, interview and observation check list was analyzed by using frequency, percentages and narration. As a managing problem behaviors challenge effective communication between teachers and students, strong listening skill, poverty, family factors, technology, bullying student attitudes and behaviors, and parent involvement. Among the misbehaviors identified in the study area reflected by students are doing unrelated tasks while Physical education practical class, being late in the practical class, disobedience of teacher order to ignoring rules and disturbing others student, making conflict and absenteeism, and failure to bring necessary sport wears therefore due to the prevalence of these misbehaviors at the practical class of physical education learning times was wasted, teacher was not motivated to each effectively the student who need to learn were disturbed. The researcher recommended that the Teachers are expected to organize and implement instruction in ways that optimize student’s access to learning and use group behavior management methods that encourage students’ engagement in academic tasks as well as school and concerned bodies should provide sport field/playground/, buy essential materials, build available water supply and build cloth changing room. 4
