In December 2017 and January 2018 Archaeological Solutions (AS) carried out a programme of archaeological monitoring at 18-20 Railway Road, King's Lynn, Norfolk (NGR TF 6210 2013; Figs. 1 - 2). The monitoring was undertaken in compliance with a planning condition attached to planning permission for the demolition of existing structures and the construction of eight dwellings and two commercial units (Kings Lynn Council Planning Ref. 15/01699/F), based on the advice of Norfolk County Council Historic Environment Service (NCC HES). No archaeological features or finds were present. The frequent deposits of made ground suggest that the site is much disturbed.
